How do you secure workers compensation coverage in Ohio?

Ohio is one of the remaining four workers compensation monopolistic states. Workers compensation coverage for Ohio employers is only available through the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation,  otherwise known as the BWC.

Ohio has provided workers compensation coverage through this system since 1912.  It’s estimated that coverage for up to 2/3rds of all employees in the state is provided by the BWC. The remaining employees are covered through various self-insured employer programs within the state. The BWC is the largest state fund in the country with assets somewhere around $19 Billion!

You can find more specific information on the Ohio workers compensation system at our website. You’ll also find links to the Ohio workers compensation rules and laws and direct links to the BWC.

Hope this helps you out! Thanks!
